Hi All, the last time I came on here I was in a long term job that I had started to hate, feeling trapped and didn’t know what to do.  I have 2 children, a mortgage, outgoings etc and couldn’t see a way out.  Well now I’ve done it! I’ve left my job, taken a wonderful holiday, recharged my batteries and get this… I start a new job tomorrow, it pays less than my previous job but tightening the purse strings will take care of that.  The most important thing is that I feel a lot better (with just a little bit of medication from the doctor) and I’m looking forward to starting my new job tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your support.  It helped me make some really big decisions over the last couple of months.  Here’s to 2010.  Will

Well done, will.  I am so happy for you.  Money is not everything, and I am so proud of what you have achieved.  Similar to you, I left my old job (a job with pay but no soul) today.  I feel relieved.  Next week, I will start some volunteer work to nourish my soul, body and mind.

Congratulations, Will.  Good luck with your new journey to be a healtheir and happier person!!!

Hi Chloe,

The new job is going brilliantly thanks, I’ve been there just over a week now and because of my previous experience I’ve already had a little promotion!  It’s a management role but with nothing like the stresses as before (or the money!) but I’m loving it and I don’t even mind getting up at 5am!

How are you these days?

Will xx

Hi Will,
I am so happy to hear that you are loving your new job grin  Not sure about getting up at 5am part though - so early:0

All is well here.  I have got myself out there to meet people with compassion and love in welfare and volunteer fields of work.  Volunteer work is great, and it has given me more clear direction in what type of work that I want to be involved in next.  You are right, it is not all about the money.  If the work is rewarding, inspiring and being appreciated from your peer and above, then it is so very worth of giving it a go.

Keep up the good work, Will.  Once again, I am so very happy for you:-)

Hi guys!

It’s Sunday night, this is when I used to get down, starting to think about work again on Monday morning.  Not tonight, I’ve had a great weekend and am now ready to get stuck in again tomorrow morning.  I can’t believe I got through the last two years feeling that way, I should have done this a long time ago!

How’s everyone doing today?

Will

Dear Will, it is so great to hear such a different person from the person you were a few months ago, hating your job, tingling arms and stressed.  After feeling that you would never be able to get out of that situation you made the tough decision to leave and did it.  Susan Jeffer’s has a very good book called, ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway.’  You’ve certainly done that and it sounds like you’re reaping the rewards.  As you say, money can’t buy your health and happiness.  Just look around you.  Many of the wealthiest people in the world are unhappy.  If you want to feel rich, think of the things you have in your life that you don’t have to buy!  Well done you.  I’m sure this has reinforced to you that you can do anything you want to and put your mind to.  You’re a strong person Will.  I’m very happy for you.  Best wishes, Helen

Hello Will, how’s your Monday been?  I thought of you with a smile this morning as I read your email about not dreading Sunday evenings and Monday mornings any more.  You are one more person who has turned their back on the material merry-go-round as Brencoot very aptly describes it and are feeling so much better having done so.
Lots of my friends in the city are doing the same thing.  Many not out of choice initially but most are now pleased as they would never have felt able to make the decision for themselves.  They are now doing what they’ve always wanted to door trying something new that they didn’t feel able to choose to do because of being judged and not having the confidence to change.
It shows that it’s not money that makes us happy.  Sure we need enough money to pay the bills and be comfortable.  A lot of people are struggling with that right now and I do hope that things turn around soon for people.
I just wanted to thank you for sharing such a postive outcome with us.
Best wishes,  Helen
