Hello Helen, Jean, Chloe and Brencoot,

How are we?

Helen, thank you for your lovely note.  Yes, I was having a bit too much energy the other night, and needed to be reminded that everything happens for a reason, and also to be impatient and let it be.  I feel very comforting to come onto the site, knowing that no matter how I feel, you lot out there would understand it grin

Jean, I know what you are saying, feeling exactly the same as you do.  We are buddies and we are always here for each other.  How lucky are we to have met one and another here on the forum?!

Chloe, are you looking after yourself regardless how busy your family, animals and puppies make you to get engaged in all sorts of things?  So good to hear about your home renovation.

I feel grounded and relaxed, realising that we have a whole life expand to look forward to.  Everyday is a new day.

Hope you are all well.  Please be kind and be gentle with yourself.

Love you lots, and thank you for your kinds words.

Hope Xx no I haven’t been looking after myself ha ha and I have had the most rotten cold haven’t done any exercise and drank more coffee than water. I know what to do its just the doing it ha ha. I just need to get back into the habit of it. I went in the swimming pool again tonight and saw the MEND guys there with their t shirts Mind Exercise Nutrition Do it ...its the der der DO it bit teee heee. When I did exercise if i missed a day I felt guilty now I need some discipline I need to put some routine back into my life. Most of my friends go to the gym most days and are so good at looking after themselves. You and Brencoot need to sprinkle your magic sports dust on me please Xx When I read at university I realised most of the greatest minds did exercise at least 2 hours a day if I recall, ie the psychologist Eysenck was a tennis player. Loehr and Mc Laughlin mention in mental toughness the greatest chess player, swam. Mind over matter. My friends laughed together tonight because we really need to exercise more, because it is such great stuff. Exercise is me time and I do feel selfish when I have me time yet I need that time to be a great mum wife and friend, so yes Hope I need to look after myself XXI do love you XxHUGXX I shall endeavour to exercise more and keep healthy Xx promise XxChloe

Brencoot Xx my passion is swimming above and below water, snorkelling and sailing Xx I love water sports. I think I should emergrate to some place hot because it is far too cold here. I love to sit for hours and stare at the sea. I used to find time to do this when I was pregnant and I love swimming. I would swim all day, every day. Yes my passion is swimmimg Xx why aren’t I swimmimg ? ha ha ha ha Xxx When I worked in a work place full of men we would all go swimmimg at luch time, the works vehicle took us to the local pool. My male collegues were so shocked that me the girlie perfume slick could out swim them teee hee. They would reach the other end of the pool breathless and I would already be there hair and make up still in tact and shocked I never needed to stop, I love it. Now I get my head under the water and wear goggles. For valentines my husband helped me sort out the house, no laughing that was the greatest gift of all xx I plan to paint my house soon, and I do all the inside jobs and my husband does all the work outside. He hates any DIY so I do it. I needed to move some furniture out and he helped me without grumbling, I was so happy it was a very happy valentines. Sounds crazy yet it was a wonderful happy experience Xx For him I guess I never had to nag Xx so he was happy Xx How are you ? What are you up to this weekend are you still running. My friend ran a half marathon at the weekend in under 2 hours she was thrilled and had to run on the beach !!! Speak soon Xx Chloe

I read this today on Dave crisps life coach newsletter -
“Habits are safer than rules; you
don’t have to watch them.
And you don’t have to keep

Hello Chloe,

Well done on the walking and doing something nice for yourself.  It is probably not a good idea to exercise while you are sick.  Like you, I have days that I am motivated to get out and exercise while other times I just want to take it easy and relax on the couch. Listen to our body is what I have learned about what’s magic and being rewarded for get moving at the moment.  Do you know that doing housework is a form of exercise as well? I bet you do that everyday!  Some days, I take a hot bath and let my muscle soak into the deep water and feel the sensation.  I find by doing that it reconnects my body more smoothly.  It also helps to do exercise more comfortably when all your joints and muscles are all connected and relaxed.  What do you think?  Most of all, do what you like, eat what you like, and try to trust your body.  Our body is truely a magic machine in every single aspect of life.

Hope you are smiling, Chloe.

Hello Chloe, how are you? Sorry I haven’t replied for a while, but I’ve been a bit busy.

I love swimming and things like diving too, I just wish it were a bit easier/more convenient to do. That’s why I do more running and cycling etc, cos it’s a bit easier to do in that you can basically just walk out of your house and start.

Do you have any plans for the weekend? It’s been a nice week, so I’m hoping the weather will be OK this weekend too, although Sat doesn’t look great.

Well, hope you are OK. Take it easy and have a good weekend

Hello Hope, how are you? Sorry for not replying sooner, but I’ve been a bit tied up.

Anything happening with you recently? Any plans for the weekend?

Yeah, I think many people’s dreams change over time, and possibly become a bit simpler, or should I say focused around family or the things nearer/more important to you. I still think the pressures from society force us to have goals/dreams that aren’t really our true dreams. I have literally hundreds of dreams, probably 99.9999% of which I’ll get nowhere near achieving. I think I’m due for a rethink of my goals to make them more realistic for me, cos I think if your goals are too far away/beyond you, they actually become a negative thing rather than a positive thing.

I’m glad you had a good Valentines Day. What film did you see? Have you seen many decent films recently?

Well, I hope all is well with you. Take care and have a nice weekend.

Hello Brencoot Xx how are you ? Hug xx I have been out with the dog he is gorgeous and I love him so much xx Brencoot Will Smith quoted in readers Digest the most unrealistic dreams are achieveable XXHUGXX and I believe in you. We all live till we are 100 so there is plenty of time. One particular boss who said why have a dog and bark yourself told me any further education would be cruel to me and it would not be fair to put me on a course at work. I left the job and struggled through an Open University with all the put downs and sneers and then went full time university with little hope and gradutated with Bsc Hons psychology 2.1 It took one person to believe in me, a friend who was studying medicine at the time. He told me to go to university go do it be brave what have you got to lose. Now look at me, never looked back I just need that one tiny crack of self belief one little crack in the negative belief shield. I have been doing the alpha course with christians this past few weeks and the preacher said one tiny crack the devil gets in and yet the world is full of good. I looked at that with our dreams we can manifest so much from one tiny ray of hope good or we can bad. If i had believed in boss I would still be filing and putting up with his male ego. No I chose to listen to the one person who believed in me. I believe in YOU brencoot I believe that 2 years from now you’ll look back and say HOW ? because from a person with your tenacity and discipline all that can come is success you have drive and determination to do all that exercise to do what you do now to speak Japanese and I think your wonderful because your a man who listens !!! Xxx My husband is buying mountain bikes for all the family carpe diem, we all hope to go mountain biking as a family. We wont take the dog, dogs have been known to drop down dead following a pushbike so we wont do it XXx Sorry to get on my soap box one day you’ll be a claim to fame XXhugXx I know these things XXxChloe

Hello Chloe, how are you? Thanks for your positive words and advice. Lets hope you are right. Do you have anything that you really want to achieve at the moment, like any short term goals? I’d love to be able to improve my Japanese cos I feel it’s getting much worse now I’m back in England, that’s why I keep wondering about going back to Japan for a while, until the economy picks up a bit more and I can think again about maybe trying the restaurant.

It’s good that you are getting mountain bikes for everyone. It should be nice now the spring seems to be on its way. I do hope me saying that won’t put us back into the depths of winter. I know you are not planning on taking your dog out with you, but it might actually be a good idea. I heard that if you take your dog out for exercise like that, they see you as more of a pack leader if you can out-run them (whether it be on a bike or whatever). Obviously trying to out-run a dog just running is a damn site harder than on a bike! Actually, around where I live, I sometimes see a woman out on a bike trailing 2 sheep dogs behind her. The sheep dogs certainly look happy, if a little tired!

Don’t you feel that time goes quicker and quicker every year? I wonder if it is down to what they say about the fact that as you get older, 1 year is a smaller and smaller percentage of your life, so it seems to go quicker every year? I certainly wouldn’t argue with that.

Well, I hope you are OK. Take it easy

Hello Brencoot, Chloe and Jean,

How are we?

Love Chloe’s positive notes on achieving dreams.  Sometimes it is hard to let the fear of failing and rejection go, but I feel that if we could just set us free and do things without focusing too much on the outcomes, then it becomes a lot easier and more encouraging.  I try to do that, and it is working magically at the moment.

I am well., Brencoot. Been keeping myself busy with volunteer work, exercise, engaging in some creative projects and spending time with my loved ones.  It seems that I am accepting myself a lot more these days by resting, talking to people who understand, trying new things without worrying too much what the end results will be.  Lucky that I have a loving partner and family to remind me constantly what’s important in life.  Well, I enjoy watching movies.  Laterly I have watched Avatar, Up in the air and the blind side.  They are all very interesting stories to watch.  Movie is like a get away for me without actually going to far for a bit of break and time out.  I like it very much.  What about you?  Do you like movies?  What do you do to relax?

Jean, how have you been?  Haven’t seen you here for a while… hope all is going well at your end.

Best wishes grin

Hello hope, how are things?

Yeah, I like films, although I haven’t watched as many filsm over the last year or 2 as I used to. I have seen Avatar though and quite enjoyed it. There are lots of films I want to watch at the moment, like Shutter Island, The Hurt Locker, Alice in Wonderland….etc. I’m not sure when I’ll get to watch them though. I also enjoy reading and studying to help me relax, although I don’t do as much of them as I should, or as much as I used to anyway. Of course exercise is a biggie for me, I need that, although I think it’s more of an obsession than anything else.

It would be great to just completely let go of the fear etc about trying to achieve our goals, but it’s hard to do that when you have things like a house to pay for and a family to take care of. Saying that though, as long as we keep our health, nothing else really matters that much, does it?

Well, I hope you are OK, take it easy and please let me know if you see any other good films.

Hello everyone,
Sorry I’ve not been here for a while.
How very interesting your discussion is about achieving goals.  Perhaps it’s best to try for one at a time
otherwise they all seem so far away.  Now I feel I’m over depression, I am aiming to be a nicer person-
less selfish, and to think about the people who matter to me.
(although I do slip backwards sometimes!)
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  j x

Hello Jean, how wonderful to hear you sounding so well.  I know what you mean, I hated being so selfish when I was depressed.  It’s much more rewarding and more fun to be giving, understanding and empathetic isn’t it?  I enjoy it so much more.  We all slip from time to time but I guess that’s what being human is all about.  I hope that you are having a lovely weekend.  Best wishes, Helen
