Hello Arpacs, I feel for you, I really do.  Things are so difficult at the moment.  It is so easy to be tempted by the lifeline that credit cards seem to offer when we are struggling financially.  Every day offers for 0% credit cards are landing on our doorsteps or blank cheques with offers to cash £10 000 TODAY!  What they don’t help with is planning how we are going to pay them back.  My sister always says to me that if we can’t afford it now, what makes us think that we’ll be able to afford to pay it back in a year’s time when the 0% interest deal ends and we have to start paying 20% or more on our debt.  It’s a slippery slope to misery and depression.  Once you start a credit card and put a small balance on it, it’s very easy to keep on spending and reach the limit very quickly and open another and end up in the same situation with that one.  We’ve all done it.
Have you spoken or are you able to talk to anyone about your situation?  Would you feel up to going to see you doctor to ask for a referral for someone to talk to?  Maybe talking to someone would help you feel stronger to be able to deal with your situation.
I’m not sure of your situation and please don’t feel obliged to tell me but if you are working or have family are you sure that you are claiming all the benefits that you are entitled to.  Could you get a part time job to help you with the payments? Have you thought about contacting a reputable credit agency to help you with possibly reducing your interest payments or helping you with your financial problems?  IVAs are a way of reducing your interest on your debt.  These agencies can be very helpful.
You may feel like burying your head at the moment.  Financial debt is a terrible burden and it often doesn’t help to know that you’re not alone but you’re not.  We are here for you Arpacs.  Thinking of you.  Helen
