Hi everyone,
Thanks again for the replies.  Great idea to write myself a list for next time, I will definitely do that. 
Well despite my boss’s grumpiness when I approached him last week, he has given me a slightly lighter rota for this week so I think he possibly cares a little more than he has been letting on.  So I have been having a much better week, walking my beloved dog in beautiful parts of the countryside in the daylight (as opposed to our my usual dutiful trudging along by torchlight!) and making healthy meals for my husband and I in the evenings.  What a difference it has made!  I am definitely going to talk to my boss about cutting my hours long term.
So just going to wait for my blood results and keep trying to do things I enjoy as much as I can in the meantime.
