I tell myself I love myself . I tell myself I am enough and that I do not need to buy things to cheer me up. I got this idea from Marisa Peer’s book. Recently I have just started to invest more in me than material stuff and objects to make me happy. It’s a day to day slog sometimes I feel I am going nutty because I just love to shop, so i distract myself. I wish money grew on trees because I love the thrill it gives me to go and buy lots of stuff. I have started to go swimming to make me feel great and keep me out the shops and it works.Mind you I have fallen off the wagon a couple of times but better the woman that made an effort than the one that never made an effort at all. When I get really low I run up and down the stairs and jump about to really happy music to detract the urges. Could you start a hobby, is there something that you could do instead ?

Well, either you have a secret passion for your postman and are using this to get close to him or like Chloe says there are other ways to get help.

Other than a power cut or throwing said computer out of window, this is difficult as you can access the internet so freely at home.

Addictions come when you loose or have lost control and there are other underlying issues which you feel you cannot deal with, so you vent it on something that will give you a kick.  The energy you seek is already in you, but has become lost amongst this underlying problem.  Yes I guess, you could try Chloe’s self help methods, although i feel you need more healing than that.

Have faith and I suggest you go see a Hypnotherapist who will help you get to the bottom of what you really need and help you attain better coping strategies than spending on ebay.  You can still spend, but with control and wouldnt it be nice to be in control again.

I am guessing you need a lot of energy and healing and I am sending you some through the internet to keep you going until you can seek help, either through your doctor or by your own merits.

Good Luck

Hi Chloe

Thank you for your reply

Yes I am a hypnotherapist and a spiritualist.

I completely agree with everything you are doing.  I would also suggest you might try a course in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), as then you dont have to keep forking out for Hypnotherapy.  It is a very fast technique that works on the pressure points to free you up from wanting certain things.

It is nice sometimes to fall off the wagon, because it reminds you just how far you have come, so long as you only get a graze.  If you feel the urge, try the pound shop, as you have less to use and generally it is cash only, so spending a lot is harder.

I see that you are a very positive flamboyant person and your energy is bountiful.  I love your honesty and that you like to keep things fresh.  You have an exhuberant personality and I hope you have a job that shows this off.  I think anyone would love to be in your company, especially MR RIGHT.  Have you found him yet?  I do feel that you are in the middle of making a big decision right now, but just remember the bigger the risk , the bigger the reward.

Good Luck

This was in The guardian tuesday 5 Jan 2010 - Mindfulnesss Three minute exercise
mindfulness is described as a way of paying attention to feelings ans emotions so that they can be managed. It involves meditation , yoga and breathing techniques.
’ three minute breathing space’
1. ask yourself what is my experience right now ? and notice any body sensation, thoughts or feelings you are having without judging them.
2. place your attention on your breathing following the in-and-out breath as it naturally occurs.
3. Expand your awareness to the whole of your body continuing to notice any thoughts feelings or physical sensations that occur without judgemant.
Hope this helps :0) xx

Chloe, i was more of referring to starting an ebay business. It is quite simple and does not need much capital.

Find something which people wants and you list it in ebay to sell. There are many suppliers now who do shipdropping for you. Meaning once you have an order, you just tell them and they will ship to your customers.

So after a person win your auction, you can then contact the ship dropping company to fulfill the order.

I need to talk to my husband because I haven’t got a clue about business. Sounds like a wonderful idea. I am going to look into this and see if I can run a little business from home. So I sell items for the suppliers and they ship them so I wouldn’t have a house full of toys say.Us girls need our pocket money. Thank you for your help and advice Xx

Thank you Adrian Xx My friends and I find it difficult with small children to work and have a job so having a job from home is ideal. I have a job from home yet it does not always bring in a regular income. A need a pipeline flow of cash which would be ideal and an ebay business would be wonderful Xx
