Depression Can Be FunEssays, badly timed jokes, ordinary days

Questions we get asked

Short answers to the things people ask before they get in touch.

Is this medical advice?

No. I'm not a doctor, therapist or counsellor, and nothing here is treatment. These are one person's essays about ordinary days — read them as that, not as help.

I'm struggling right now. Can you help?

I'm not able to — I'm not qualified, and it wouldn't be fair to pretend otherwise. Please reach a professional or a crisis helpline; they're there for exactly this, any hour.

Why the title?

It's a joke, and it isn't. Humour is how a lot of people carry heavy things, and the title sets the tone: honest, sometimes bleak, often trying to laugh anyway.

Can I get new essays by email?

Yes — say the word on the form and I'll let you know when something new goes up. No list-selling, no clutter, just the occasional note.

Can I share an essay with someone?

Please do, if you think it'll help. A link is welcome anywhere; just keep my name on the words.
